Peter Mansfield Architect is a community-based practice in Almonte, Ontario (located approximately 30 minutes west of Ottawa). Over the past twenty four years a number of projects have been sensitively undertaken ranging from adaptive re-use, commercial, institutional and numerous custom residential commissions. Among these is the Thoburn Mill Complex – a 30,000 square foot fusion of contemporary architecture and ‘Class-A’ office, residential and studio space within a 19th century former industrial warehouse on the Mississippi River. With a similar emphasis on the rejuvenation of existing structures and spaces, a number of other developments have been completed including a 5 storey mixed commercial & residential development, the Almonte Downtown Riverwalk (and network of pedestrian paths & bridges along Almonte’s waterfront) as well as the S-4 Potential High Tech consulting offices. The firm of Peter Mansfield Architect thrives on the model of team design work both in partnering with architectural colleagues as well as the coordination of various consultants as required to achieve timely and quality results.
Finally, a note on our logo: the image of two stylized maple keys represents nature’s ‘blueprints’ and a motivating image to achieve architecture of beauty and compatible with our environment.
